Our Story With a reputation by our customers, as being the best paint store in Townsville, that reputation has been earned on knowledge, experience and the quality of the products we sell. It’s Paint began in a humble warehouse in Hirst Street by Gordon Butcher, who had many years experience working for Walpamur paints before it became part of the Orica group of paint brands. With business growth, he moved to a double shop frontage between the ANZ Hermit Park and Toyworld. In 1993, Shane and Janiene Murrell became the owners of Gordon Butchers Paint Barn. With an eviction notice in 1999, due to Toyworld expansion, the store was moved to its current site at 256b Charters Towers Rd, as well as the warehouse behind the store in Hirst St where it all began.
